“Can you give me one good reason not to quit in life?” Is a question in so many people hearts when life seems unfair to them. When they gave so much love and in return is hatred and hurt. When they compare their life with others and they are far behind etc.
Here is an answer for you today…
“I pay my grandfather a visit one day”, and i asked grandfather Can you give me a reason why you didn’t quit in life after all the troubles you pass through in life? and he said my son “Do you ever see the fern and the bamboo before?”
“NO”, I replied. He took me to the forest, today i would show the main reason. Look at this fern and bamboo…
“When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.
I planted them in place where the ray light of the sun can reached them, a land well watered. After awhile the fern quickly spring out from the land, Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.
But I did not quit on the bamboo, In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said in year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit, in year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not quit.” He said.
“Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the land. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant…But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.
WOW! how come suddenly transformation. My grandfather saw the surprised in my face. And he said, the bamboo had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong, make it grow to the peak of life and gave it what it needed to survive for a longest time. He asked me. “Did you know, my son, that all time I have been struggling, trouble that things was not working and been frustrated i was actually been growing roots in other to rise to the peak of life and survive for long time.
“I did not quit on the bamboo. I did not quit on myself.”
The problem many people face today that made them to quit in life is because they compare themselves with others. See my son “Don’t compare yourself to others.” He said.”The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful. When the time of the bamboo come it reached the peak of life, when my time come i reached the peak of success”,
“You will rise high”. sometimes it take long time.
“How high should I rise?” I asked.
“How high will the bamboo rise?” He asked in return.
“As high as it can?” I questioned.”Yes.”
Lastly He said, “you need GOD in others to rise as high as you can.” The main thing that help him most was is believe in GOD. Without HIM you cant survive because HE is your maker and the ONE that gave purpose of your existence in life. See me as GOD, the bamboo as you. I didnt give up on the bamboo likewise GOD will never give up on you. The bamboo also didnt give up on itself, Never give up in life.
I left my grandfather from that day i made up my mind that quitting is not going to be in my dictionary of life again. I hope these words can help you see quiting is not an option you should take in life.
